Jelang Kejuaraan Dunia Bulutangkis 2022, Legenda Malaysia Minta Ganda Putra Mereka Tiru Indonesia

PETALING JAYA – Legenda bulutangkis Malaysia, Datuk Razif Sidek kembali mengkritik ganda putra negaranya menjelang Kejuaraan Dunia Bulutangkis 2022. Razif mengatakan, ganda putra Malaysia harus meniru Indonesia.

Diketahui, tim Indonesia menurunkan enam pasangan di sektor ganda putra pada Kejuaraa Dunia Bulutangkis 2022. Enam pasangan ini termasuk kombinasi dari pemain senior dan pemain muda di sektor ganda putra.

Diantaranya ada Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan yang merupakan senior, dan Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana yang termasuk pebulutangkis muda. Kombinasi ini ternyata tidak terjadi di sektor ganda putra Malaysia.

Razif mengatakan, kesenjangan antara pasangan senior dan muda di ganda putra Malaysia harus segera diperbaiki. Untuk itu, Razif menyarankan ganda putra Malaysia meniru Indonesia ihwal masalah ini.

“Apa yang dimiliki Indonesia saat ini luar biasa. Mereka dulu mengandalkan satu atau dua pasangan kelas dunia tetapi sekarang mereka memiliki enam dan ada beberapa kombinasi muda lagi yang menunggu untuk membuat terobosan,” kata Razif dikutip dari The Star Malaysia, Sabtu (20/8/2022).

“Kami juga harus mencoba membantu pasangan muda untuk menjembatani kesenjangan dengan senior sehingga kami akan memiliki pasangan yang lebih berkualitas untuk saling mendorong dalam pelatihan dan juga di turnamen,” sambungnya.

Lebih lanjut, Razif mengatakan Asosiasi Badminton Malaysia (BAM) sudah mengupayakan hal tersebut. Mantan pebulutangkis era 1990-an ini pun berharap upaya yang dilakukan itu bisa mendapatkan hasil positif di masa depan.

“BAM dan Rexy (Mainaky) sedang mencoba untuk mendapatkan pasangan muda dan elit untuk berlatih bersama,” ujarnya.

“Ada beberapa kombinasi di luar sana dan dengan panduan yang tepat, kita bisa memiliki lebih banyak ke depan,” pungkas Razif.
