La Liga president Javier Tebas has once again spoken about Barcelona's spending ability in the transfer market this summer. At the EFE Business Insiders event on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, Tebas candidly spoke about the many financial issues related to Real Madrid, Barcelona as well as involvement in the European Super League project.

In his latest comments, based on Marca's report, he gave a little confidence in Barcelona's financial strength to be able to sign a number of star players such as Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland.

"There are a lot of steps that need to be taken before they can do it and they (Barcelona) know what it is," he said.

He is aware that Barcelona still has a difficult financial situation. In the January transfer window, Barcelona was safe to sign Ferran Torres, Adama Traore and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. La Braugana managed to release a number of players such as Philippe Coutinho, Sergio Aguero and Yusuf Demir.

According to Tebas, Barcelona can still increase its financial strength in the upcoming transfer market. One way to increase their capacity is to accept CVC agreements.

This agreement contains a policy to manage the league's broadcasting rights for the next 50 years. Barcelona and Real Madrid had refused to agree to the deal.

"I'm not in those negotiations and therefore I can't say anything about it. I hope it's true and that Barcelona will sign him. If at one point they don't see the benefits, it's because they think it's positive,” Tebas said.

He continued, “For football in general, this is a project that accelerates other projects. It wouldn't be done otherwise nor would it take a lot of time to do it."

Currently, Athletic Bilbao, Barcelona and Real Madrid are the three La Liga clubs who have not signed a CVC deal. The deal will provide the club with fresh funds in exchange for a percentage of their TV rights.
