According to The Hollywood Reporter, Exa Dark Sideræl Musk was born in December last year through a surrogate. He will be joined by his older brother X A-12, whose pronunciation is "X A.I. Archangel", who was born in May 2020.

Musk's daughter will be referred to as "Y", while the eldest son will be referred to as "X".

The couple kept the birth of their second child a secret until it was revealed in Vanity Fair magazine where Grimes was the cover story.

According to him, the name Exa refers to the supercomputer term exaFLOPS, Dark stands for the "unknown", and Sideræl (pronounced "sigh-deer-ee-el") is described as the actual time of the universe, stellar time, deep space time or not. Earth's relative

Exa is the second child for Grimes, who has been in a relationship with Musk since 2018. Musk has five sons from a previous marriage. His first son, Nevada, died of SIDS at 10 weeks of age in 2002.

Grimes told Vanity Fair that she had a difficult first pregnancy, especially in the months leading up to the birth and even experienced bleeding.

"He was pressing on my nerves so I kept passing out. I took a few steps and passed out. It's kind of scary, because you don't want to fall much when you're eight months pregnant," Grimes said.

"So I'll just crawl into the bathroom and crawl back or whatever," he continued.

Although the couple split in September, Grimes confirmed they were back together.

"There are no real words to describe it. I would probably call him my girlfriend, but we are very united. We live in separate houses," said Grimes.
